Frankly Speaking…

I love all the Islay whiskies and this iconic Islay whisky, situated on the South Coast of the island needs no introduction. When I was in Islay, John McDougall, who went on to manage Springbank, was the distillery manager. From time to time, I’d line up samples of each one to nose and taste, reminiscing the great times we shared. The smoky seaweed salty flavours from Laphroaig with good company is something that I will never forget…

Tasting Notes

Nose: Warm peat smoke, coastal with sweet undertones.

Taste: Smooth and smoky, nutty, salty seaweed, iodine, coal dust with the sweet fruitiness.

Finish: Long, smoky and sweet peat flavours linger.
