Inchmoan 12 Year Old, 46% abv
Descriptions
Loch Lomond houses four distinct styles of still which can be combined to create a high quality range of whiskies. Using a combination of two Loch Lomond still types create a more complex range of flavours with hints of peat and smoke.
For centuries, the mainland inhabitants of Luss, on the west side of Loch Lomond, used Inchmoan as their source of peat fuel for the village fires. Hence its name ‘Inch-Moan’ : the island of peat in gaelic.
Inchmoan 12 Year Old Single Malt is born from a combination of malt whiskies from our traditional swan neck pot still and our unique straight neck pot still to create an unconventional peat character with a lot of depth marrying smoke and spiciness. It is matured for 12 years in a mix of recharred American oak and refill bourbon American oak casks giving sweet vanilla background notes that complement the soft peat style of Loch Lomond’s unique still set up.
