This is Bodega Lagarde´s iconic flagship wine. It is a complex and elegant full bodied red wine. It is produced with grapes from low yield harvests, with long maceration. The wine is aged for 24 months in new French oak barrels. After this maturation is complete, the wine is bottled and left in stowage for a full year before release. The first harvest of Henry Gran Guarda began in 1990, which marked the beginning of a unique and irreplaceable collection of vertical harvests of one of the most renowned red wines made in Argentina.

Varietal: 38% Malbec, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 14% Syrah
Vineyard: Gualtallary, Tupungato, Mayor Dummond y Perdriel, Lujan de Cuyo – Mendoza
Fermentation: Pre fermentative cold maceration between 2 and 4 days. During alcoholic fermentation, delestages and tampering is done daily. The total maceration takes 20 days. The Malolactic fermentation is spontaneous.
Aging: The wine spends 24 months in new French oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle.
Storage in bottle: Over 15 years
Tasting Notes:
Color: Dark red, almost black, with violet hues
Aroma: Red fruits, fresh herbs and spices with slightly smoky notes, adding more complexity
Flavor: Very good structure. It is juicy and the acidity is in perfect balance with the unctuousness, giving way to a long and elegant finish
